Meetings
Houghton Keweenaw Conservation District's monthly board of
directors meetings are held under the provisions of the Open
Meetings Act (Act 267, P.A. 1976) on the third Wednesday of the month
at 6 p.m., unless otherwise announced. All meetings are held in the
first floor conference room of the UPPCO building (600 E. Lakeshore Dr.)
in downtown Houghton.
Meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at
6:00pm in the UPPCO building, downtown Houghton. |
In accordance with district
policies, special meetings requiring a quorum of the board of directors
will be posted one week in advance. Meeting notices are posted outside
of the district office.
The Annual
Meeting
The district holds its annual meeting at the end of each fiscal
year. The district's fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30.
The annual meeting provides an opportunity for the residents of Houghton
and Keweenaw Counties to meet district board of directors and staff. Typically
held in October, the annual meeting is a fun and informative event. The
district schedules the event to include dinner, a brief business meeting
(with updates from the district staff and cooperating agencies, director's
election, a guest speaker), and door prizes to close out the evening.
