Involved
Everyone has a role to play in caring for the natural resources of Houghton
and Keweenaw counties. The Houghton Keweenaw Conservation District offers
a variety of opportunities for people to get involved.
Whatever your interest, we have a place for you. Consider exercising your leadership skills serving on our district board of directors. Perhaps you're interested in public education, tree planting, or office work. The Envirothon program, our spring tree sale, and annual meeting are just a few of the special events and projects that need the attention of dedicated volunteers throughout the year. Consider nominating a deserving individual for one of two of our district awards.
Earth Team, a volunteer program sponsored by the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), is seeking interested people as well.
When sharing your time and talents with us is not an option, consider becoming a partner of the district by providing financial support at a level that works for you.
