Forest and Tree Health Publications - Excellent online library of publications including: silvics manuals, forest health publicastions, How-To manuals - including apple pruning, diseast and insect identification, growing healthy trees and more.

Free GIS/GPS Software at DigitalGrove. - Free GIS/GPS tools, forest inventory software,data collection programs, mapping software and more.

MSU Extension Publications - Online library of publications put out by the MSU extenstion service. Publications include: tree planting, forest management, maple syrup and tree identification.

Managing Michigan's Wildlife: A Landowner's Guide - An excellent publication put out my the MUCC and Michigan DNR. Includes information on managing for different species of wildlife including deer, bear, turkeys, and songbirds; managing different forest types; wetland management; backyard and grassland management.

Pond Management Questions - Online pdf file of questions and answers regarding pond management. Topics addressed include: pond construction maintenance, algae control and fish habitat.

Michigan DNR Aerial Imagery Archive - Air photos covering most of the state of Michigan. Unless you have GIS software such as Arcview, you will need to download the "ExpressView Browser Plug-in (MrSID)" software from Lizardtech. A link to Lizardtech is located on the DNR web page.

Davies & Company - Massachusetts consulting forestry website that contains many articles reagrding good and bad forest management. Much of the information on this website applies to the U.P. as well. Great site for landowners wanting to learn about timber harvesting, associated scams and more.

Fruit tree disease factsheets - Links to website with information about various diseases of fruit trees.

Quality Deer Management - Mid-Michigan Branch - Information about quality deer management (QDM). The website offers a "do-it-yourself" Food Plot Book with instructions on creating food plots without the need for heavy equipment. The food plot book is highly recommended for landowners wanting to establish food plots for deer.

All About Birds - Cornell University Lab of Ornithology website. Everything you want to know about birds including habitat requirements, conservation status and identification. The site is organized by species - just pick the species of bird you want to learn more about and go from there. You can also listen to bird songs online!!

Management Guides for Thrushes and Scarlet Tanagers - Land managers guides put out by the Cornell Lan of Ornithology. Excellent publications for improving habitat for these bird species.
