APPLE TREES
Apple TreesApple trees require at least two varieties for cross pollination.

CORTLAND
A heavy annual cropper that bears large size fruit. Red striped apple that is white fleshed and of excellent dessert and processing quality.

HONEYCRISP
This is a real crowd pleaser. The fruit is large and the skin is 50-90 percent red over yellow background. The flesh is cream colored and exceptionally crisp and juicy with a sub-acid flavor.

HONEY GOLD
A hardy substitute for Golden Delicious. Developed especially for cold Northern areas. Fruits are medium to large, golden to yellow green. Flavor is sweeter and more bland than Golden Delicious. Susceptible to fire blight.

LODI
An excellent early yellow apple, similar in quality and flavor to Yellow Transparent, but larger and firmer. Matures a few days later than Transparent. Has a moderate shelf life.

ROSELOW SARGENT CRABAPPLE
A compact, rounded and densely branched flowering crab reaching a height of about 8’. Pink buds produce white flowers in mid-May and abundant dark red fruit by fall. The small fruit is attractive to a variety of birds. This tree does well on a variety of soils and is an excellent wildlife planting.

SWEET SIXTEEN
Cold hardy variety from Minnesota. Fruit is large, red , firm and crisp. Tree is winter hardy and fire blight resistant.

WOLF RIVER
Originated near Wolf River, Wisconsin about the close of the Civil War. Large to very large size—pies have been made from one apple. Primarily a cooking apple. Shape is round and sometimes flattened. Color is pale yellow to green with carmine red blushes and stripes. Tree is hardy in northern latitudes.

 

CHERRY TREES
METEOR (Tart)
(Tart) A large tart cherry of very good quality. The tree is very hardy, productive and resistant to leaf spot.

SWEETHEART (Sweet)
Self-fertile cherry of medium size with good flavor. This late season cherry is firm and maintains its red color throughout maturity. The tree is very precocious with an upright growth habit. Fruits are susceptible to cracking.


PEACH TREE

RELIANCE
The hardiest yellow-fleshed freestone sold by Hilltop Nurseries. Medium sized, roundish, yellow fleshed peach. Has a rather dull blush over a greenish yellow ground color. Flesh is bright yellow, rather soft and juicy, and flavor is fair. Particularly good for fresh market in cold regions.

 

PLUM TREE

STANLEY
Most popular of all prune plums. Fruits are medium to large, fine quality and colored deep purplish blue. Flesh is greenish yellow, juicy, tender, firm and sweet. Trees are vigorous, hardy, bear early and produce large annual crops. Fruit is a freestone. Variety is self-fertile.
