Small to medium tree, reaching heights of around 40-60 feet at maturity and short lived. Can grow on a wide range of soils and site conditions but is often limited by competition with other species. Does best competition-wise on very dry (sandy), acidic, and nutrient poor sites. Very shade-intolerant and fast growing.
