Medium tree, reaching heights of 40-70 feet at maturity and short lived. Can grow on a wide variety of soils and site conditions, ranging from dry/well-drained sites to sites that are somewhat poorly drained such as margins of lakes and streams and high points in swampy areas. Very shade-intolerant and fast-growing.
