If you are a logger, landowner, or farmer who has bought or sold timber in the past 3 years, or plan to harvest timber, then this upcoming workshop—Keep More $$$ From Your Timber Harvest!!!—is a MUST see! The HKCD is partnering with Susan Metcalfe from Metcalfe Forestry Co. to help make a confusing part of the tax world all the more clear. Through a discussion on the potential taxes on earnings from buying and selling timber and a showcase of various tax based incentive land management programs, Susan will show how you could possibly spend less on taxes in the years to come. Just come on by the Hancock Community Hub on January 21 at 5:00 pm for this FREE 2 hour workshop on timber taxes and other programs that can potentially keep more $$ in your pocket and reduce your overall taxes. Additional information on common myths in the forestry and accounting world will also be discussed along with other tips and tricks for reducing tax liability. Again, if you own forested land, you won't want to miss this FREE event!
*In the event of inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled for the following morning (1/22/2026) at 10:00 am.
